ART NOUVEAU ~ MASCARONS ~ BELLE ÉPOQUE

Riga, Latvia is widely considered the Art Nouveau capital of Europe. More than 800 buildings, comprising a third of the city center's architecture, are built in this style. Most structures were built during an economic boom between 1904 and 1914, with primary clusters located in the UNESCO-listed "Quiet Centre"

Iwanted to share some interesting details regarding the "U tri bilych beranku" (At the Three White Lambs) building located on 28.rijna street in Prague, Czech Republic.

The building, constructed between 1900 and 1902, features a beautiful carved stone facade detail typical of Art Nouveau architecture. Specifically, it includes a female mascaron—a decorative face—surrounded by intricate floral ornamentation. The design seamlessly incorporates natural elements, such as fruit and leaves, intertwining around the central face.

I thought you might find this example of Belle Époque design and architectural history.
